What is Yazen?
Yazen is an online provider of medical weight loss coaching, active in the Netherlands and a few other European countries. You complete a questionnaire, are assigned a doctor and then work on your programme through the app.
The programme is built in phases. After the introduction comes the treatment phase with coaching, doctor contact and blood tests. On its own website Yazen names no medicine brands, but refers to GLP-1 medicines and GLP-1/GIP analogues.
Coaching and medication are separate at Yazen. The subscription covers the service, the medicines you pay for on top. That works the same way with us. It makes the two straightforward to compare.
What does Yazen cost?
Yazen charges a monthly amount for the treatment phase. That covers the coaching, contact with a doctor and the blood tests belonging to that phase. The medicines are not included. You pay for those separately, on top of the subscription.
So what you pay per month in total depends on your medicine and your dosage. Yazen does not publish those medication prices per dosage, which means you cannot see that part of the bill in advance.

Is Yazen reimbursed?
Coaching for medical weight loss through an online provider is generally not reimbursed by basic health insurance. That applies to Yazen just as much as to us.
